Happy New Year!!

I trust you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I came back from vacation to some very grown up bulbs! The paper white is first but the Tulips, Freesia, Tuberose and Daffodils are on their way. This next week is definitely rose pruning time! However my 4th of July rose is still crazy blooming! Since it is Winter, if you have a small patio like I do, make sure that your "full sun" plants are moved to catch as much Winter sun as possible. On a different note, I'm trying to score a plot at a community garden. I would love to try some large trailing veggies this year. Squash and cucumber are on my list. Wish me luck!!!

Here is one last picture for the year! My very last "crop" of French Lace roses. I'm thinking that when I get back from vacation, will be a great time to prune them. Most roses have usually stopped giving you the perfect rose by this time but since it's been so hot here in LA they may still want to bloom. I'd say give them another month before the winter pruning. Blub Time

Have you planted your bulbs yet. I realize it should be colder but hey, it's California! Now IS the time. Check out my new Neon Amaryllis, nice, right??!!

Drawing Class

People ask me why I still take art classes. I wouldn't presume to know everything about art, keep learning, keep growing. I took a drawing class on Saturday. It was ssssoooo nice! The exercise shown here was to draw only the negative space. It was different but fun...this is my third attempt trying to get it right! Takes me back to art school days!

Artwork is up!!

Art Show Update!

My art show was a great success! I love my wall space, 2 whole walls all to myself! Thank you to everyone who braved the 5 freeway to come and support my work! If you missed it there is a second reception on November 4 from 7-11:30pm. Please let me know if you would like to attend!
