Wax Flower

I got this Wax Flower plant many....many moons ago at Descanso Gardens in La Canada. I had it in the direct sun, as they had done at the gardens, but it seemed very angry. I put it in the shade and it didn't like that either. All of it's color faded away and it turned a very light green, so sad. I put it on our front patio and it seems pretty happy now. It has grown about three feet and has these lovely blooms that hang from the bottom. I don't know the lesson here but I try to watch the sun when I first move in a new place and see which plants like/hate the sun, etc. I hope to see some of the bright green color comes back into the leaves...we will see.

Wisteria

I missed the boat on this one but it's such a good picture I wanted to post it. This Wisteria picture was taken at Lacy Park in San Marino CA. Wisteria is an early Spring blooming vine named after Casper Wister after it's discovery in 1818. Enjoy!

RECYCLE!!!

Every ton of recycled paper saves about 17 trees...RECYCLE PEOPLE!!!!! Good for you and the trees!!!

4th of July

My 4th of July roses are here just in time for the 4th of July. This particular rose, to me, has the best fragrance of the bunch. It's kind of a spicy sweet smell. My rose bush has exploded into blooms this year, YAY for me!!

Radish Flowers

As you know I planted radishes this year in hopes that they would do better than in years past. They are looking fine, and...they flowered. Did you know that radishes flower? I didn't but here is a pic!

Did you know...?

Did you know that cranberries are sorted for ripeness by bouncing them? I didn't, but Snapple did!
